Cellulite Affects All Women

Cellulite affects all women, no matter their age, skin tone or weight. Granted, women that are overweight are more prone to developing cellulite but even thin women, think Tara Reid and Sharon Stone are not immune to the dimpled effect called “cellulite”.

Recently I was surprised to read that women who want to get rid of their cellulite should give up smoking. What does smoking have to do with cellulite? Studies show that smoking weakens collagen formation. Collagen is a protein produced by the body and constitutes the connective tissue that holds our skin together. Smoking interupts this cycle causing cellulite or the fat underneath our skin to become more visible.

If cellulite is imposing in your life, the best remedy is exercise and regular walks. Topical treatments are another method of reducing cellulite. These are creams and loions that reduce the appearance of cellulite over time. For the best cellulite cream look for those that contain caffeine.
